ADOBE AFTER EFFECTS RENDER DOWNLOAD
If CC 2014 is not an option, you can download the script BG Renderer to make After Effects take advantage of multiple cores. Check the box where it says "Render Multiple Frames Simultaneously". But if you can work in CC 2014, you can enable multiprocessing by going to the After Effects menu, selecting Preferences, then Memory & Multiprocessing. Unfortunately, if you have already started your project in a newer version, it won't open in CC 2014. It is a free download with an Adobe After Effects subscription. The multiprocessing feature was removed after After Effects CC 2014, so you will need to download CC 2014 to take advantage of it. If your computer's processor has multiple cores, you can achieve faster render speeds by turning on "Multiprocessing" in After Effects.
When you're ready to export/render your final video, enable Caps Lock so that After Effects doesn't have to render the Preview as well as the exported video. While working in After Effects, the Caps Lock button disables previews, which is useful if you want to make some edits and you don't need to immediately see the update. Turning on Caps Lock on your keyboard can be useful while working, as well as for speeding up your final render.
